About me

This blog isn't cute. I'm too old to be cute. I am however, gyaru, and I am opinionated. That, according to the standards of the internet, is enough to have a blog. I've been involved in western gyaru since '05, and I know everyone who is or was anyone in the western community. You wanna know secrets? I've got your secrets. Read more about me »

Creating A Daily Gal Wardrobe – What’s your life like?

July 14th, 2009 by Coco received No Comments »

I’ve started washing all of my clothes that I haven’t really gotten a chance to wash before because I didn’t have my own machine. I realized something amazing by doing a few loads a day.

I have a lot of clothes!

Even though I have a lot of things, I always feel like only certain pieces are “gal” enough, or are something I really want to wear. Other times, I want to wear something, but don’t seem functional enough for what I’m doing. I want to buy different stuff, but I feel guilty having so many clothes already!

I know you all feel the same way. Don’t you dream of having the money to go and get all new cute stuff? To completely start your wardrobe over? Me too! :D

Maybe we can’t do that all at once, but we can whip our closets into shape by first looking at ourselves. What’s our life like?

{a picture was going to go here, but my left eye is having an allergic reaction and I can’t wear eye makeup. actually, I’ll probably have to toss all my eye makeup. guess that’s good for you, because I’ll do product reviews.}

What are all the activities you do in your waking life? Honestly, this activity showed me just how boring I am, as 40 hours are spent at work, and probably only 5-10 hours are parties or get-togethers. The rest is either me at home or out shopping or casually hanging out. But you probably lead a better life than me, so your plan will be better!

That’s about 40% at work and a little less than 10% parties, with 30% being casual wear and 20% or so being home wear. You can get detailed with this if you wanted, but as long as you have a dedicated grasp of what things you would wear for each area, you are probably good.

Now~ Look at how many things in your closet fit the balance of lifestyle that you actually wear.. Most of the stuff, we don’t wear, or isn’t right for the occasions we live in. That’s why we feel so overwhelmed by our closets!

Activity!

Today, lets look at our closets. What is the one item you love the most that fits into your lifestyle and makes you feel gyaru or gyaru-o? I’ll post my favorite work piece tomorrow with the next step in our closet makeovers! <3
