Growing Up Gyaru Part 3
January 20th, 2010 by Coco received No Comments »For those of you that might have missed it, this is a continuation of a series that starts here.
Xti called me on a very lazy weekend to see how I was. We chatted casually for a little bit, then she dropped the bombshell.
“We want you in Bulaklak.”
Now my gyaru who aren’t that well known yet are going to relate to me here. I nearly died of happiness! I mean, to be invited to a large, well-known circle is every gals dream! I said thank you a million times, then took some time to think it over. In the end it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up, so I did it.
I feel like there’s not too much that happened with me personally in between joining BT and setting up the website, I had graduated college and since I worked such odd hours, I really wasn’t present online or otherwise. I did become co-mod of everyday gyaru, but that felt very minor to me.
The chance to set up the site came to me through a deal on the hosting costs of this domain. I had wanted a domain name for years, so I did it. The name was kind of an odd thing, I really wanted to set up this site as a place for my sewing work, and I wanted it to be called “the pink cross” because it was sort of a reconstructing clothing/saving old clothing sort of thing. That name was not available, so I very unoriginally thought of the love pink victoria’s secret brand and just played off of it. It sounded cute enough.
The site sat virtually untouched for a year, until I had realized it had been a year since I bought it and I never used it! I liked the idea of blogging outside of writing very personal stuff, so I gave it a try. The success, in my eyes, has been great.
I’m constantly trying to branch out with the articles and try to write longer things than the one liners that usually go with my magazine posts, hence this post. If you have anything you’d like me to write about or record, please tell me!
Also, a lot of people have said they wanted to write their own gal history, and I think that’s so cool! Please comment when you guys finish them so that I can make a post about it linking to you!

This blog isn't cute. I'm too old to be cute. I am however, gyaru, and I am opinionated. That, according to the standards of the internet, is enough to have a blog. I've been involved in western gyaru since '05, and I know everyone who is or was anyone in the western community. You wanna know secrets? I've got your secrets.
