Review – Hawaiian Tropic Radience Self Tanner

July 16th, 2009 by Coco received No Comments »

I am so lazy when it comes to going to the tanning bed or laying out. I have even purchased minutes to the tanning salon closest to where I work, but never get the desire to go over there and use the beds. Shame!

So I bought this new self tanner, assuming it was a spray. Hawaiian Tropic has an image of being a sexy beach company. After all, they do host a Miss Hawaiian Tropic featuring lots of lovely tan girls!

First off, it’s not a spray, it’s a cream/lotion. And it sprays out fast and without warning. The first time I used it, I couldn’t get the button to press, so I kept trying to press harder and harder and needless to say, it exploded all over me. I was thinking exactly what you were, you pervert!

It’s really really hard to regulate how much you want to put on when so much of it comes out at once. This turned out really badly once the tan developed. This was a week ago, and I still have orange spots EVERYWHERE. My hands and nails have been orange this whole time, and it’s so embarrassing to have cheeto fingers!

So the only good thing is that my stomach actually looks really good and even. Maybe there’s a moderation thing I need to master in order to get a good result. But I haven’t figured it out yet. Another thing that I actually liked about the product was that it made my skin amazingly soft. If I could get this stuff as lotion without the tanner, I’d be all over it.

I’m going to try this stuff one more time and see if I can find a way to lessen the proportions in order to get a more even color. But until then I’m giving this stuff a D.
